Art Exhibitions Opening - Aug. 14 - Oct. 9
There will be a reception from 7-9 p.m. Friday, August 14th at the CAC to celebrate the opening of four new exhibits. The reception and exhibit viewing is free and open to the public. Most of art will be available to purchase. The music for the evening will graciously be donated by, The John Pinno Classical Guitar Ensemble. The ensemble will be playing from 7:30-8:30pm and consist of Linda Wood, Jay Jones, Regan Hall, Eddie Mora, Donnie Carpenter, and Pamela Smith. The ensemble is a joint collaboration of the CAC and the Academie Musique of Temple College, interested participants can call to enroll in the group.

New Exhibit - Meet the Fergusons: Two Governors for the Price of One - Sep. 5,2009 - Mar. 13, 2010
The opening will feature a tour of the new exhibit, as well as a performance with Mary Jean Boston in the role of Miriam Ferguson. Mrs. Boston originally wrote the performance for the Living Room Theatre of Salado. Punch and cookies will also be served at this free event, which will be held from 2-4 p.m.

Temple Trail Blazers Challenge - Sep. 19 - Dec. 12
As part of the COMMIT 2 FIT campaign,Sammons Community Center is sponsoring the Temple Trail Blazers Challenge. Put on your walking shoes or air up your bike tires and get committed to this healthy challenge. You will have 12 weeks to complete the challenge of walking or biking each designated City of Temple park trail at least once and accumulating as many miles as possible in any park. Participants will receive a complimentary trail blazer T-shirt, trails map, challenge instructions and a log sheet at the kick off event. Upon completion of the 12 week program, join the Milestone Celebration and awards presentation on December 12, 2:00PM at Sammons Community Center.
