TEMPLE, TX – Effective Monday, November 17, at 6:00 a.m., Wendland Road will be closed from Moore’s Mill Road to Wilsonart Drive. The road closure will safeguard the traveling public and allow the ongoing construction project in the area to be completed more quickly. Drivers may travel between Moore’s Mill Rd. and Industrial Blvd. by two alternate routes: 1) Pegasus Road, accessed by traveling east on either Moore’s Mill Rd. or Industrial Blvd. and 2) Old Howard Road, accessed by traveling west on either Moore’s Mill Rd. or Industrial Blvd. Please note the section of Industrial Blvd. between H.K. Dodgen Loop / Northwest Loop 363 and Old Howard Road has recently been renamed to Central Pointe Blvd. It is estimated that the newly widened Wendland Road will be open to travelers upon completion of construction in March of 2009.
Additionally, in response to TxDOT construction at the intersection of IH 35 and South Loop 363, the City of Temple will close Mockingbird Lane and Brooklawn Drive at the Northbound IH 35 Service Road (General Bruce Drive) effective immediately. The diversion of traffic resulting from the ongoing construction has created safety concerns in the surrounding neighborhoods.
